| Local automotive company looking for a Packaging & Process Engineer. This is a Contract to Hire position. Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering. The Packaging and Process Engineer plans and directs activties concerned with design and development of packaging for automotive parts. Job Duties include but are not limited to: Following general company policies as outlined in the employee handbook. Responsible for conceptual development of overseas packaging for automotive parts, including cost analysis. Coordination of new packaging concepts with customer. Documentation of packaging concepts in IT system and preparation of packaging work instructions. Monthly tracking of part specification changes and changing of packaging concepts as necessary. Analysis and improvement of existing packaging concepts. Coordination of packaging trials and workshops. Planning of layouts for packaging cells and material flows. Optimization of workflow, material flow, and package content, and Continuous Improvement. Documentation of layout in IT system Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.Job Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint. Intermediate knowledge of computer based project management tools is required and knowledge of MS-Project is desired. The individual must be capable of understanding and eventually having a thorough knowledge of the company's Excel-based calculation tools. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The Packaging and Process Engineer must have the ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. A valid Drivers License is preferred. Forklift operating license is preferred, but on the job training is available.
